Counterfeit Resident Cards in Japan
Immigration officials in Japan has identified at least 33 cases of foreigners holding counterfeit resident cards between July 2012 through May 2013.
Japan introduced a new foreign resident card system on July 9, 2012, and has issued around 1.1 million cards thus far.
The holders of the counterfeit cards were reported to have overstayed their visas.

Earnings From Selling Pirated DVDs in Los Angeles
An officer from the Los Angeles Police Department told the media that some pirated DVD seller who sells their merchandise on a blanket in the streets of LA can make up to $20,00 to $80,00 a month.

E-Book Piracy Rate in Russia and the United States
92 percent of e-book readers in Russia obtained their books illegally downloading the materials.
In the United States, the e-book piracy rate is about 12 percent.

Seizures of Fake Foods and Counterfeit Goods in Yemen
In the first six months of 2013, authorities in Yemen seized and destroyed over 57 tons of counterfeit and expired foods, counterfeit cosmetics and counterfeit drugs. 581 cases of counterfeiting have been identified by law enforcement, with 522 cases being sent to the Prosecutors office.
Amongst the actions taken by officials were seizing 50,000 packs of chewing gum and shutting down 8 ice cream factories that were shut down due to lack safety standards and substandard ingredients.
In 2012, over 80 tons of counterfeit goods was seized and destroyed in Yemen.

The Reserve Bank of India reported that up to 69.38 billion counterfeit banknotes were estimated to have been in circulation during 2011-2012.
27.84 billion of the fake currency were 100 Indian Rupees and higher.
Financial regulators in India detected 521,000 counterfeit notes during the time period.

European Union police agency Europol reported that 28.6 percent of all counterfeit goods seized in 2011 consisted of counterfeit foods and counterfeit drugs. The portion of fake foods and medicines seized in 2011 was up from 14.5 percent in 2010.

An estimated $1.5 Billion worth of counterfeit drugs was reported to have been sold in Mexico in 2008. This latest figure is higher than the previously reported value of $650 Million in 2006.
Up to 30 percent of all medicines sold in Latin America are estimated to be counterfeits.

Illegal honey factories in Bosnia and Herzegovina produce up to 1,000 tonnes of fake honey each year. The counterfeiters sell the counterfeit honey to producers for $6.50 (€5) per kilogram, according to the president of the Beekeepers Association.
Genuine honey costs up between $9.82 to $13 (€7.5 to €10) per kilo.
Worldwide, counterfeit foods creates up to $40 Billion in market losses.

Nearly 75 percent of the market is based in the nation’s capital of Delhi.
On average, companies in India with well-known brands lose around 25 percent of market share due to fakes.
